Why High-Vacuum Applications Are Hard on Blowers

  • Mechanical durability. Bearings, gears, shafts, seals and lubrication systems all have to withstand the mechanical loads associated with demanding blower operation.

This distinction is important: maximum displacement alone should not determine blower selection. Required vacuum, operating speed, horsepower, duty cycle and system configuration should all be considered.

When Noise Is Another Operational Challenge

Vacuum truck noise does not come from one component alone, but blower pulsation can contribute to overall system sound.

The standard SIAV/H tri-lobe design reduces pulsating noise compared with two-lobe impeller construction.

For applications where additional sound reduction is needed, the SIAV 8702 VS incorporates Hibon’s patented Venturi System. The system is designed to minimize pulsations and control heat rise and can reduce noise by up to 10 dBA without compromising reliability or performance, according to Hibon product documentation.
